Components of Search Engines

Mainly there are three components of Search Engines :

i) Web crawler
ii) Database
iii) Search Interfaces

Web crawler:

A web crawler is a program or automated script which browses the world wide web (i.e WWW)  in an automated manner.
Note:- Web crawler is also known as Web spider or web Robot.

How web crawler work:
Web crawlers make its beginning by crawling the pages of websites. Every time you visits a URL web crawlers record & report all sort of data on the websites.

The basic Functionality of working of web crawlers are:

* Seed List
*Fetching the actual Content
*Discovery of new URL & Sites
*Intelligent Crawling
*Parsing
*Data Storage

Database:

A database is a collection of Data in an organized manner so that it can be easily accessed, managed & Updated.

Database is of six types:

*Operational database
*Personal database
*Commercial database
*Distributed database
*Centralised database
*End user database
